anyone ever used one before. I ordered one today but site didn't have any reviews.

This will be splitting a signal from a Onkyo receiver that does hdmi signal conversion to a 720P projector and a 32" lcd that are about 5 feet away from each other.

I figured if I hooked them both up I could watch the LCD during the day and use the projector during the night. Right now the projector is my all day TV and bulbs are expensive. Thus justifying the $125 investment.

but my receiver should make the handshake no problem. But yeah I'm curious to see how it goes from there.

I'd venture a guess that you're going to have problems using that splitter with anything that has content protection using HDCP.....

luckily at the moment I do not use anything that requires the handshake.

Both my cable box and xbox360 are hooked up via component to my receiver that outputs via HDMI to the projector. All I'm doing is splitting the signal coming from my receiver and sending it to the projector and the LCD TV.
