i didn't know how to put the title so....anyway guys hi how are u all?..... actually the problem is that sometimes i do get the sound from my cards when i turn my system on n sometimes i don't ...when i dont get it it says that the device is not plugged in although of course it is and also it is enabled.....also in the VIA controller which configures the onboard sound on my mo-bo is not outputting any sound when i put the HDMI digital output to default?

basically what i need to know is what do i do when there's no sound from my hdmi n the device is shown to be not plugged in in the sound device manager?

also how do i make this ATI HDMI audio the HDMI sound output in my VIA audio controller? so i can directly switch to it from there n not have to go to windows sound manager everytime to do it....

I have a TV hooked to my PC via HDMI. If I turn my TV on after my PC has booted I don't get the HDMI sound. I have to reboot the PC.

Maybe their is a better system. If so, somebody please share.

You can try sleep mode instead of rebooting.

My friend uses Win7 with an ATI 3450 with HDMI connected to a 32" 1080P LCD. He says that he used to sometimes lose audio over HDMI, but that the Win7 SP1 release candidate fixed that. So wait for SP1, maybe it will fix the issue.

And OP, the Via control panel is only for the onboard Via audio, there's no way to get it to control the ATI card's HDMI audio output. You have to use Windows' control panels for that.

ok thanks guys.......... and especially lifeblood ...you were right that in order to get the sound everytime i've to switch the lcd on first then the pc

Its nvidia sound @ 48khz 16 bit. Which is not that great. No reason to use it unless you dont have sound card, and your on board has gotten broke busted....
