HDMI Port Not Functioning Brand New Card XFX R9 280X

Hey guys,

I just finished my first pc build, and everything worked perfectly except for one small issue. My HDMI port on my graphics card is not functioning. The monitor doesn't pick anything up when it's plugged in. The DVI port will function, but the HDMI will not. I have tried two different HDMI cords.

If this helps, the specs of my computer are listed below:

-XFX R9 280x 3GB DDR5

-Gigabyte Z87X-HD3 mobo

-two 8GB Ripjaw G.Skill DDR3

Let me know if you would like to know any other specs for my computer.

Ok, so I opened up my case and adjusted a few things, and it is now functioning. My only problem now is that the entire screen is not being used. There is a black outline around the actual screen area so everything isn't being used on the monitor. Any idea with this one?
