Alright, so i Have a 42" LG LCD TV. It's about a year and a half old, it does 1080p and has 3 HDMI Ports (2 on the back, and one on the side). Now my problem is this, one of the HDMI ports on the back is not working properly. Lets say i'm watching a blu-ray movie, and theirs a bright image and then it fades to a black screen, I can see a shadow of the bright image. If that makes any sense. Same goes for playing Xbox 360, lets say im in a well lit room of a game or what-have you, and then it fades to a black loading screen. I can see a shadow of what was viewed before. It only does this with 1 of the HDMI ports, the other 2 work perfectly fine. The reason this is such an issue is i need all 3 HDMI ports for my Xbox, Blu-Ray player, and my HD PVR... and i wanted to know if their is anything i can personally do to possibly fix the issue?

Thanks in advance. :^)

Something is wrong with the settings on the tv. If the port was at fault you would get sparkles in the picture or no picture . It isn't possible for the connection to effect the image like you are experiencing.

As stated, the image settings are usually port dependent, so your image settings for that port are off. Maybe you can set them to default? What is the model number of the TV?

Probably it lost the sync, so you could disconnect it for a minute and connect it. If that does not work and you reset the TV to its factory defaults, then it could be the connector. If the connector can move or wiggle even with out the cable connected, then it is just a bad connector. The problem could be further like the switches in an IC of the TV. Though I have deal with HDMI a little, so I just use my past experience with using connections that require sync.

If everything fails, check LG site for any firmware updates and make sure the updates includes the fixes that relate to your problem. If there is not firmware or there is an update firmware that fixes your problem and still gives you the problem. Use an HDMI selector that connects to the input that works the best.
