What's the difference between HDMI and DVI connector? Like I have a 24" monitor with HDMI port and my 9800GX2 has HDMI port also. Is it better to use HDMI over DVI (not the VGA analog ) ? Is there any performance differences? any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know the video signal is identical. Hdmi is a smaller form factor, and includes sound.

HDMI includes sound and can deliver much more bandwidth. Even for video DVI is maxxed out before HDMI reaches a ceiling.

Bandwidth would be a function of cable build quality/material/shielding regardless of whether it is a dvi or hdmi cable.

I liked the explanation here.

If I were in your situation I would probably go with hdmi to get around any possibly hassle with HDCP.
