Hello all,

I have an issue I can not figure out or I have missed something.

Here are the system specs -

MSI K8NGM2-NBP Motherboard
AMD 4000+ CPU
2 gigs ram
MSI NX8600GTS Video Card with DVI and HDMI output
LG Super Multi Blue (Blu Ray, HD DVD, DVD, CD)
Western Digital 120 gig Hard Drive
Sony 40" Bravia XBR4 120 mhz LCD Digital Color TV (HD 1080p)

I put it all together in an Antec VERIS Fusion Black Case (430 watt PSU) and installed Windows Vista Ultimate. Also installed are the video card drivers from the enclosed cd and Cyberlink BD and HD DVD player software that was also enclosed. The system check software indicates that the system meets all the required specs to play Blu Ray and HD DVD.

Here is the issue -

When I hook up the DVI port using a VGA converter I get great video.

When I hook up the HDMI connection I get the bios then the screen blanks out.

When I use the DVI port with an HDMI connverter I get the bios then the screen blanks out.

Also, my Xbox Elite works on any of the HDMI ports.

I have checked or think I have anyway, all of the system options I can possibly think of with no luck as of yet. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated! I have Blu Ray movies to watch!

Thanks!

P.S. - I hope this is in the right forum area.

IM guessing its gotta get to windows to set up the display properly.

Have you tried using a DVI -> HDMI cable instead?

No I do not have one of those. Would there be that much difference between an adapter and a cable version?

Probably has to do with the quirky default behavior of Dual View with some monitors/HDTVs. Hook up both outputs (DVI + HDMI) to a LCD and your HDTV. Once you get into Windows on either display, set dual view in CP to your HDTV as primary (and only display if you wish). After that, you should be able to unplug the LCD and have only the HDTV as your display.
