I have a windows 8 media center machine that I can't use because the graphics card is a R4830-T2D512 with 2 DVI ports but 0 HDMI. Though I have a cable that converts, it hasn't worked no matter what I have tried.
I would like to pick up a cheap HDMI card that is better than my R4830-T2D512 and supports HDMI. I would LOVE to spend ~29 for the card, but would go ~39 if it was the only way to get a decent card for running 1080p video out to my 55 inch television.
Below are the specs of my current card. The problem I'm seeing is cards with 1gb memory but 48bit memory interface and 1,333 clock speed. Why are those numbers so much lower than the ones on my OLD card?
PCI Express x16 2.0
Memory Type GDDR3
Memory Size(MB) 512
Memory Interface 256bit
Memory Clock Speed(MHz) 1800
Thanks for any help. I was looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127515 but again... 64bit? Does that matter?
