I noticed they start at a length of 6ft and then it jumps way up. I have't found any 8 ft. ones yet. I've shopped around a bit and I'm probably looking at $400+ for three cables.

Any suggestions?

not sure what kind of cables you're getting. But, with monoprice.com, you can probably get all three for under $50 total.

More like under $30 shipped, but yeah, they rock.

~$25 shipped for three. It's digital, and at only 8 feet, any cable that works will provide the exact same signal.

They are for three seperate devices on the same wall. I thought I'd use the other two for a HD DVD or BRDVD, and a game platform.

I told my wife that the PS3 came with a blu-ray drive and she said it would be a crappy one because the PS2's DVD drives were so bad.

Anyway, these other cables your suggesting would work for them , but why are they so cheap? It's probably because of the ferrite cores. Doesn't the picture quality get degraded? I'd think these at monoprice were better because they cost more.

Monoprice.com FTW!

I recently ordered an assortment of cables for $25 shipped. Good cables, cheap and they ship fast.

With lengths this short, it shouldn't make a noticable difference going with the cheaper cables. Getting the 24 gauge cables wouldn't be a bad idea though.

Reason they're so cheap? In general the cables from Monster and such are mainly there for retail stores to make their profit. They can sell TVs and such for reasonable prices and then make some decent profit if they can convince someone to buy $300 worth of cables to hook it up when it cost the store only a very small fraction of the cost for the cables. I'm not sure on figures, but 1000% profit on the cables is probably ballpark.

I think reviews show that the PS3 Blu-ray player is one of the best, if not the best one out right now.

You are correct that those would be better for your setup. They are using copper wiring instead of ferrite. With the high end quality of your setup, use the better cables at $20 each. The $5-$7 cables are good for 3 feet on non 1080p setups.
