HDMI Cable for Playstation 3

I have no idea which HDMI cable to get for PS3. I keep hearing from different places that a cheap cable is just as good as an expensive one and then from another place I hear that an expensive one is better. What should I get? I've got a Samsung 50" DLP 1080p that I'll be hooking the PS3 up to.

Less than 15' it doesn't really matter. Generic will probably still do OK up to almost 25'. From there out you need to be a bit picky about what you're choosing.

I got an el-cheapo from a local TV shop. I only have a 720p set, but it looks crystal clear and I've no issues at all with it. I can't imagine anyone running an HDMI cable beyond 10-15 feet anyway. Why would you have your peripherals that far from your TV? Maybe a sports bar would need it, otherwise I can't imagine a scenario that calls for it.

Monoprice.com

Even the cheapest they sell is fine for 10-15'. I splurged and got their second-cheapest for use with my Samsung 50" 1080p DLP.

Ive always been very happy with the monoprice cables. Build quality appears to be as good, or better than the "boutique" cables I have seen.

Projector setups, most likely.

Or any setup that has a LCD mounted to the wall where you have to run a cable a longer than normal distance within the wall, placing the components out of the way.

What distance are you spanning? If its under 10 feet, just buy a cheap cable.

Not far at all. 6 feet should be plenty long for me. Thanks for the help guys.

Ah, the sweet, rare thread untainted by system bias.

MS and Sony fanboys agree, go with Monoprice!

For a 360 I'd go with monstercable. Quality gets quality afterall.

Good plan! Here's what I own.

I love the single user review "if you want the best possible HD experience then you want this cable if you dont mind spending an extra few bucks"
