The hdmi cable for the 360. I dont have the elite one or anything that has an hdmi port can I use it on the regular 360?

No, you can use any HDMI cable on the 360s that have a HDMI port. I believe that product you linked is so you can also hook up the audio connections. But you can do that with the cable that comes with the 360 already. That extra cable is unneeded. Just get a HDMI cable from monoprice or somewhere cheap.

Yeah any HDMI cable will work, assuming you have an HDMI equipped (Zephyr/Pro) 360.

Do HDMI-equipped 360s carry video and audio across the HDMI cable? Manufacturers sometimes add an HDMI jack to their equipment, but cut corners by only using it to carry video.

it does audio and video with hdmi cable, but you can buy the special Microsoft breakout device to use hdmi for video and audio out to your stereo

Actually, if you want to do audio separately from the HDMI cable you have to have that adapter. The HDMI port is too close to the other A/V port for you to be able to use it at the same time unless you have that adapter. The other A/V cables are too bulky right at that point. Its a completely stupid thing that Microsoft did, I don't know if it was done on purpose or what, but either way its annoying. Of course that doesn't matter if you're doing audio through HDMI.
