HDD switch question.

I currently has a Raptor 36 and a Maxtor DMP 9 80 GB SATA drive.

I am wanting to switch to a Maxtor Maxline 3 300 GB HDD. I hear them maxlines are very slow with seek time. Would I see any benifit in going with the 300 as a main drive instead of my raptor.

I'm not sure, but I'm going from a WD 120mb IDE hd to a Seagate 7200.9 160gb SATA hd. I'll let you know if there is any change. I would think you might get a bit of a difference, but not much noticeable...

I run 2 Maxline III 300gb sata drives and see no sluggishness. I havent tested them yet nor are any one of them my OS drive. I basically use them both to store my music. Got em fairly cheap. Whats a good HD benchy?
