I have an older 1 tb WD black caviar that I want to swap into my new PC. This drive (X) was in my old PC that ran Vista and was just a storage drive but I did put one program on it, FileMaker Pro. I would like to put this drive into my new PC that is running windows 7. Can I just take it out of my old case and plop it into my new pc without having to format or will it cause a lot of issues and I should just format it? I say this since I only am allowed 2 instances of FileMaker Pro and at a price tag of 300 bucks I want to make a clear and concise decision before messing something up.

Yes, you can move the drive from vista to win 7 or win 8 or ... no need to do anything special with it.
