I'm having problems keeping my hdd running when my system is idle for long periods of time, or when i run virus scans. if your wondering what the heck i'm talking about...there is an option under power management for Turn Off Hard Drives After "X" amount of time. i set the option to "never," as i originally thought this was the culprit. no such luck, its still happening. i'm not sure exactly how long it takes to shut down, but when i bring the monitor back to life, the rig is basically frozen. i have RAM access, but i have no access to the hdd...for example, can't launch any programs, or do any other operations. rebooting easily solves the issue, thats defiantly not prefered.
