Hello there, I'm about to update the hardware of my pc and I was wondering if there is a way to go concerning my setup. I got 2 HDDs and 2 CD Drives (DVD and Burner) right now I got those 2 hdds on the same cable aswell as the 2 drives on the other cable.

My question is it a clever move to have a HDD and a Drive per cable or doesn't it matter at all how you connect those drives?

that's what i do. i put 1 HDD and 1 cdrom per cable. you aren't constantly using your cd drives so there's a whole IDE channel free right there.

Ok, I think I go for the 1hdd & 1drive per cable, since I'll be copying a lot of stuff between those 2 disks.
Would limit/reduce the transfer rate having both hdds on the same channel?
