HDD Secure clarification

I posted a question regarding SSD restoration and the use of WipeDrive. I was given a very quick/thoughtful reply but am a little confused. The article from this site regarding this referred to a restoration method using HDD Secure. This program, as I understand it, overwrites the hard drive/SSD freeing up the pages within a block. Granted it is a temporary fix but it can be utilized over and over. How, then, is this different from WipeDrive? WipeDrive also utilizes the overwrite method and mimics HDD Secure - or am I wrong about this.....

Is there someone who can elaborate....
