MY HDD gives me a disk cleanup prompt although there are around 3 gigs free on it. The OS i am running is Win 98 . Is there a way to turn off the autromatic disk check option or make sure that HDD is free space is properly recognised. My HDD is oly 10 GB so 3 GB is making a lot of difference. Ohh yeah incase if anyone is wondering , i don't have any partitions.

thanx

check you virtual memory settings and set it to min 100 and max 100 to the drive with the most space on it. just an idea.

Have you looked at the obvious things....it may be insulting, that is not the intention. I have sat for five minutes trying to get something to work only to find it wasn't plugged in (fortunately I didn't call technical support). So.......

Stoopid stuff (just in case)
[*] Did you empty your recycle bin
[*] have you defragged lately
[*] as mentioned above, check your swap file setup.
[*]have you run disk diagnostics to ensure that parts of the drive haven't been set aside as damaged?
