HDD SATA SIL 3114 expansion chipset on DFI SLI DR EXPERT SMART issues

Hello!

I am having some difficulties with a DFI Lanparty SLI DR EXPERT mother board, socket 939, CPU Opteron 146.

This motherboard with NF4 Chipset supports natively 4 SATA HDDs. Alongside this feature, the motherboard also integrates a SIL 3114 chip which offers me an aditional 4 SATA ports.

Unfortunately i have connected 4 drives on the ports and HDD Regenerator tells me that all 4 are "on the same ATA channel".

Also, using the SMART capabilities, all 4 HDD connected to the 4 SATA ports are showing the same charateristics.

Can i do something about this so i can analize the SMART readings on each HDD individiually connected to the 4 ports on the SIL 3114 chip?

P.S. In BIOS, the "SATA" setting is highlighted. All 4 HDD are different.

Thanks a lot!

All the modes for the SIL chip in BIOS are : SATA, Disabled, SATA MY OLD MB, SATA 0,1,5,10. Currently it's set at "SATA".

It shouldn't be. The 3114 is a 4-port controller. But, who knows what strange BIOS issues lurk in that motherboard-specific implementation of it. I was hoping there would be an IDE option, that do the trick, but alas...

An add-in card might be the best option, with an orphaned old nForce motherboard.
