Hdd running in Pio mode in Windows Xp

Windows 2000 runs them in Ultra Dma, The bios sees it as an ultra dma device.

My ide controller is a bx chipset and my hard disk is an ibm 75gxp which is set to run at ultra dma mode 2 (33).

What could be happening?
