I know this probably gets posted alot ...

How many of you use the Western Digital Raptor 36GB, how long have you been using it and how well has it worked for you?

I am a Seagate fan myself and I have had some bad drive ex. with WD in the past but someone told me they are better now ...

comments?

thanks

I've got 2 raptors, a 36gig and 74gig one
Both of them have been working flawlessly, the 74 gig one I've had since march last year, and the 36 gig one since august.

I find these drives are really good for boot drives, and working with lots of small files. When using them for os drive i find it makes windows much more responsive

In games there are no different to other drives, i see absolutely no noticeable difference what so ever in load times etc. Working with large files i see no difference between raptors and Seagate 7200.10 drives (except the seagates have much more space)

If u want a small quick os drive, and have cash to spend on it, sure go for it (i install all games on other drives) Otherwise ur much better off going with the normal 7200rpm drives. Seagate 7200.10 work really well for me.
