HDD question - not sure where to post!

sorry if this is in the wrong place but i wasnt sure where to post this:

i would be greatful for advice on which HDD to get:
i want one that is 80-120GB, quiet, reliable and fast [dont we all!]
i have narrowed it down to either:
Seagate Baracudda V [SATA or PATA?]
DiamondMax 9+
is there any advantage to the CUDA being SATA and the Maxtor being PATA [all other things being equal?] ie is it really worth the price differencial in terms of performance to get the SATA one? If so, is it worth trying to hang on for the Maxtor SATA drive? (any idea when it is out in the UK?)
it is going on an ASUSdeluxe Nforce2 board.

All advice is appreciated on this matter
