I've noticed that prices on hard drives fluctuate more than just about any other component in a PC, due to large rebate offers and the like. While this is probably a good thing for frugal shoppers, it has me a slightly confused--when the prices can be so drastically different on similar drives, I'm having a hard time establishing what a good base price is for any drive (in other words, I can't tell if a HDD is actually a good deal, as I would be able to with other PC components.) This is why I'm curious what you've all paid for your SATA drives, and what you think is a reasonable price to pay? I'm looking at the 120 GB range, but any input is helpful.

Check FatWallet or the Hot Deals forum on this site. If someone posts a deal plenty of people will comment on it. Generally speaking, if it's .40 a GB or less it's a good deal.
