hdd plug on mobo near cpu

is the hdd type plug on mobo near the cpu intended for a heatsink fan? what is that plugs purpose if not intended for the fan.. thanks

If you mean the connector near the chipset with the fan on top, according to the manual on the website, on page 21, you should connect this to the power supply if you are using two graphics cards to supply more power to keep it stable.

It also says there is another connector (4 pin FDD type) near one of the pcix slots (4x?) that should be connected too if you are running two graphics cards.

since im using just a 6200 temporarily, could i use the hdd plug next to the cpu for the cpu heatsink fan?

has nothing to do with a heatsink fan on the CPU. not to mention its not gonna fit there.

That plug and the floppy plug is to deliver stabiler power to the board as some PCI-e cards run entirely off the PCI-e bus for power. A 6200 probably wont need it but it never hurts. and if you overclock I suggest you use them
