HDD makes the infamous -click-.....

I recently formatted my 40gb Maxtor hard drive. After the format, I transferred a few gig's of data (15 or so) from my main 120gb WD drive, to the Maxtor drive.

During the transfer, I could hear the Maxtor make a clicking noise (even a series of clicks) every minute or so. I know for a fact it was the Maxtor because it made the same noises during the formatting process, but not nearly as often (maybe ever 5 or 10 minutes during the format process).

This only happens while the drive is doing some heavy work. Should I really be worried about it dying on me?

P.S. I've already backed up the contents to DVDs

Dude, if you don't want to end up crying then back up the stuff you need on that drive before it starts clicking faster and it won't be such fun to get your data back out of there.

Since you already backed it up, it's only time 'til it's dead. Warranty it if still valid, of course.
