HDD light questions

I ordered a sATA WD6400akks hard disk drive for my new build, but my gigabyte GA31-S2L motherboard manual shows that the connectors for HDD activity light simply detects IDE harddrive activity (I have only DVD rom on IDE), is there anyway to get this motherboard to display my sATA harddrive's activiy?
