HDD Light always on now...why?

Had a weird issue on my new Win7 Machine and ended up doing a soft boot (reset switch) from within windows. Now, after the machine boots up, the HDD light stays on all the time.

Can't find any processes running that shouldn't be. Nothing in Task Manager that shouldn't be in there, and nothing is taking up CPU time or I/O cycles.

I have an Intel 60GB 320 SSD for the boot/app drive, and two mirrored Samsung 1GB 7200 RPM drives for data.

It wouldn't be such a big deal except that sucker is red so it's like something's wrong all of a sudden. grrrrrr.......

Anyone have any ideas?

Wrong forum for this topic, however as the question has been resolved, I'll close the thread rather than move the thread. -Admin DrPizza

not sure this is "highly technical", but I'm happy to at least understand one of the questions in here well enough to propose and answer.

If your HDD light stays on ALL of the time, from first boot, with no blinking at all, I would guess it's caused by crossed wires.

I build my own systems and many times in the past I've put the HDD light cables in wrong. Usually flipped the wrong way or attached to the wrong headers. The result was that the light stayed lit all of the time.
