hdd interrupt lost booting from Linux boot disk

I am trying to install Red Hat 7.1 and I can't even get the system to boot off of the boot disk. I put it in and keep getting a HDD Interrupt Lost error. I RTFM and am pretty much a techie but can't get it to work. I have tried altering the boot following the Promise instructions for the A7V133 built in RAID controller (not running in RAID array though). In addition, I have every component on a different interrupt so there should be no conflicts. Don't know what's wrong.
