Hey guys, I've reformatted and re-installed win2k on this machine like 5 times now and after installing all the devices in one by one and restarted a couple times, it seemed stable...

Now once again (only a couple days later) its giving me errors and restarts the OS automatically...I ran stress tests on my CPU/Mobo and vid card, so I think its the HDD

WD800bb as my main drive...when i restart it gets errors. it is actively cooled, should i remove the cooling? I heard that could actually be bad if it is uneven.

PLEASE help!!

Looks like your HDD is going bad...

Backup ASAP... but check the Western Digital site for a fitness test... After that, RMA- Away :)

Good Luck... hope it works out..

I ran a WDC drive fitness test (the extended version, took almost an hour) and it said it was fine. I took the cooler off before I ran the test, and since I took the cooler off, I have had no errors...

I think that is really messed up, but hopefully it will still be fine...I'll update the post of it goes FUBAR =(

Well that being said...

I would try a low level format if u continue to have probs...

edit... not sure if a bad IDE cable could cause errors, but if nothing else works, try that also..

Good Luck...
