Is there any brands you guys recommend in terms of HDD enclosures? I'm looking to a 3.5" and a 2.5" and I'm probably going to stick with a Rosewill as they seem to get pretty good reviews, but I don't buy too many of their products. Suggestions?

I ahve always found Vantec enclosures (3.5 and 2.5) to be outstanding.

A dead power adapter from a Vantec revealed low quality capacitors and a frightening level of minimalism definitely not worthy of Underwriters Labs approval. I could not find any overvoltage protection, and any overcurrent protection had to depend on the fuse or the power oscillator inherently shutting down at high power levels (apparently not soon enough to save the primary side transistor). Many brands of enclosures use the exact same adapter. Rosewill is an exception.

UL mostly cares about fires in power supplies. Having a fuse, proper gauge of wires and flame retardant plastic covers this. They don't care how minimalist it is otherwise.

If you want overvolt protection and the like, you need to buy something that is not a $2 power supply. Granted any company cheaping out on the psu annoys me.

I was looking at the Vantechs and stumbled on a few docks that did duplicating as well. I might give Vantech & Rosewill a shot and see how they perform, but does anyone have any experience with these 2.5" & 3.5" docks/duplicators? Might come in handy for a client someday. (I'm just starting my pc repair business so I'm looking at potentially usefull hardware).
