I just built my new rig with a WD7500AAKS, it was running fine on install and the system a q6600 overclocked to 3.4ghz stable in prime for 12 hours. However speedfan reports my harddisk dropping in fitness by 1% every 4-5 days its on. it's now at 95% and it's only been a few weeks in.. It also seems the only thing causing this drop is the spin up time check

My old IDE drives I tossed in are doing just fine however.

Should I be concerned? Is it enough to contact Western digital over?

Any help would be appreciated, I'm just a little scared

Don't worry about it.

You have probably turned the computer on and off numerous times in the beginning, so the percentage of the "Start/Stop Count", "Power On Hours Count" and "Power Cycle count" kills the SMART statistics.

If in doubt, run the diagnostics program from WD.

But I am almost certain that you are fine.
