hdd crashed, now in dos. need to copy "My Docs" to LS120...

but keep getting an error message about the LS120 drive.

"disk is write protected"

the LS120 is not write-protected, and it is a good disk.

any ideas? is there an issue with dos and LS120s?

I would think you would need DOS drivers to make the LS-120
work under DOS.
Does your Bios support the LS-120 ?
