HDD corrupted writes

Hi,
I'm having some data corruption errors on this flash disk on module that I have. When I boot into knoppix and write zeros to the HDD with dd or hexedit, the resulting data I get when I view it with hexedit aren't zeroes. However, I get no CRC errors when I check dmesg. Shouldn't the device report CRC errors in this case?

Thanks!

Anyone? Are there any tools that lets me generate/check CRC codes for data sent to/from a UDMA device? It seems that writing is a problem since I wrote some data A onto the device and read it back multiple times to B and when I compared the various B's, they're all the same. However, when I tried writing the same data A many times while reading back into Bn each time, the data read back is always different, i.e. Bn != Bn+1

Thanks!
