Hello all,
I'm currently working on an older computer (7 or 8 years old) and want to clone hdd to ssd via Acronis.
I'm concerned that windows 7 was installed on hhd without ahci activated in bios for which there was an option. Will i be able to turn on ahci in bios with cloned ssd?

Intel core 2 Quad Q6600
Gigabyte P35-DSL (latest bios F9)

If it won't boot, then you'll have to turn on IDE mode and go into the windows registry to force msahci to start, then reboot and switch the bios back to AHCI. For the registry key, check this out. I've done this successfully on many machines.

Yes, if your BIOS has it. In mine it is under SATA Controller configuration. Been there and done that. 🙂
