HDD and power LEDs don't light up on Epox board

I'm terribly confused. I've always had probs getting these two LEDs working.. I used to have a piece of crap case, so I figured the headers were screwed. But I just bought a brand new Antec Sonata case, which definitely is no piece of junk..and I plugged the headers into the motherboard, and there's no cool blue power LED lighting up, and no HDD LED either. What am I doing wrong?

I tried that, still doesn't work.

I submitted a trouble ticket to Epox. I'm getting tired of this crap.. I'm going back to ASUS next time I get a motherboard. Epox = junk

The main thing you're doing wrong is not reading the nice manual that came with your Sonata. The blue LEDs are powered by the Molex pass-through connector, not by a motherboard header. The green power LED and the orange HDD activity LED *are* powered by motherboard headers. With the two different motherboards I've used in the Sonata, the power LED connector should have the writing facing up, while the HDD LED connector should have the writing facing down; YMMV of course.

That's odd..then why would the Antec case have a 4-pin power LED connector?? I'll check into this tonight.. thanks for the tip.

As far as the HDD LED and the smaller power LED, they still don't light up, even when plugged in (I tried both with the writing facing up & down).

It doesn't; the green power LED is on a normal 3-pin/2-wire motherboard header. The two blue LEDs are probably on a Molex connector because of their current draw.

Maybe your board is broken in that department...
Good luck.
