hdd advice needed

has anyone tried the Samsung and Seagate 40gb drives....

I only buy IBM drives. They really rock. I've had some Maxtor drives but the ball bearings seems to screw up after some time which creates a very high frequency noice that kills my ears.

eventhough recently news about probs on IBM harddrive went dead has been cropping up everywhere
