HDCP support native on new ATI cards. Need for HDCP monitor?

According to this new article from Anandtech: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2532 The new ATI cards will support HDCP.

Will this eliminate the need to have a HDCP compliant monitor in order to watch HDCP media?

No, HDCP requires a protected digital path to the display. Certain ATI cards have supported HDCP for some time now, however the lack of HDCP on some of the r520 models is troubling IMO.
