just setup my New HTPC. complete w/ the LG Bluray/HDDVD player. unfortunately, i completely overlooked my monitor. turns out my Dell 2405fpw is not HDCP capable.
is there a workaround for this?
i've been thinking about upgrading my monitor but in the meantime, i just got a bunch of Bluray and HDDVD's that i want to see w/ the new rig.

Yes, there is and I have done it, myself. (let's assume though you own a Nvidia g/c)
If you own a dual link dvi g/c then there is a d-sub-to-dvi adapter that comes with some g/c like the one I have (8800gts).
Go get yourself a vga cable then plug the adapter in one end where this would plug onto the dvi of your g/c and the other end plus onto the dell 2405.
Go to Nvidia control panel, set up you display to dual view, hit apply.
Restart your rig, that's it.
Every time you play HD/BR disc, just switch your display to d-sub, then sit back and enjoy your show/movie.

thanks for the response guys. Rhonda, tried AnyDVD last night. works like a charm. i was able to view both Bluray and HDDVD w/out a hitch.
