hd7990 "malta" vs devil 13

I was just wondering the difference between the amd "malta" card everyone is yelling about, vs powercolor's devil 13 7990 that came out in august.
 
I believe the Malta card is new silicon and has some enhancements aka GCN Part 2.
Looking forward to seeing what that brings to the table.
 
Malta should have lower power consumption since it requires 2x 8pin instead of 3x 8pin.
 
Unless its an improved architecture, it won`t be much faster than 7990 DEVIL. The only thing that separates them is 1500MHz for Malta and 1375MHz for DEVIL on GDDR5.
