I have the same card and dxdiag reports it as 2782MB and GPUZ reports it as 3072MB. I'm guessing it's either a glitch or more likely it's accounting for something else.

I have 2 1gb cards and mine shows this, so I guess don't worry :)

Exactly the same for me with same card.
Im thinking its due to pre-cert drivers, you know not having official MS approval or whatever.

Tried any other tools? Any performance hit?

How much
RAM do you have btw?

2x2GB GSKILL DDR3-1333

Played Diablo 3 beta perfectly at constant 60FPS VSync enabled.

This evening I am gonna try BF3 and I will post some results.

Yesterday I benchmarked my system using 3DMark 11, I've scored 6500. Not bad, I've compared to other bench with similar systems and I am approximately in the middle.

However, 3DMark reports my GPU has 1024MB o_O

My specs are:
Core i5 2500 stock
GA-P67A-UD4-B3
Sapphire HD 7950 810/1250
2x2GB GSkill DDR3-1333

I had no time to play BF3 though.

With a high end setup ideally you should go for 16gb so that you don't need to upgrade for at least 1.5 years or so. And prices couldn't be better.

Chances are he doesn't need anywhere near that amount of RAM. Don't overspend just because it's cheap, it's still wasting money.

After upgrading my memory from 4GB to 8GB, now dxdiag shows 2782MB of "Approx. Total Memory" :D
