because the card throttles down during very heavy load like the one Furmark produces (it started back in the 5000 series, but then the drivers just looked for the executable name to detect Furmark)
bu this kind of load never happens during gaming so this is essentially a moot point.

In fact not the case，GTX580 like this，only driver detect the of programs， but HD6970 or HD6950 is not~ you can get the power @ Frumark， but the in the games，you could‘t get PowerTune work，because the power of card is not high enough~
