This is pretty much what Nvidia is doing with their entire Fermi lineup. Stocking up on defective, yet still functional chips, and creating new products rather than throwing them out.

This one is only for China and Russia though.

Which raises the issue of whether the GTX560 SE may also be for Russia and China etc only or whether it will be w roldwide product, since the initial leak rumour doesn't say.
If it does end up being Russia and China only, then it may not indicate a significant delay until replacement cards.

AMD originally announced the 6770 was OEM only to. I think it's a publicity move to judge reception from the community. O/C it can use more power than the 6970, but it's performance to price is not bad. That goes for many 40nm cards currently to !

Little faster than the 6870

Stock clocks not nearly as fast as a 6970

O/C closer to 6970

Better than 6870 performance for less than 6870 money? Sounds like a pretty good deal for the Russians and Chinese.

Yeah they didn't kill the ROPs on this card. Much better reletive to the 5830 of the time.

For the price is does look like a pretty good card. AMD turns bad chips into money, and consumers get some decently priced cards. Not a bad turn of events.

5830 is an awesome bitcoin mining card though, as far as price/performance measures.

I wonder how this one does at mining, and if it'll ever be available in the US.

That's a good point. I had a 5830x2 Bitmining rig had great hashes and low heat (well relative.) Power wise, I wasn't too concerned.
