I notice my HD6850 has a hitch in some games no matter what I do or how smooth I get the framerate.
For example in Far Cry 3 and GTA 4, I have both games set up so they easily average well over 60fps, but the game still hitches and stutters, more than I remember console games stuttering.
It's like every 10-15 seconds (unpredictable really) there is a slightly hitch, and the game will continue to play smoothly except for that hitch.
I noticed it most in the 2 games mentioned, I also tend to notice it in Diablo 3 and Fallout 3/New Vegas, where I am averaging over 100 fps.
I feel while my GPU is not top of the line, my overall system is well balanced and shouldn't have any major bottlenecks causing "hitches" in gameplay when the FPS shows +60 fps?
i5 2500k @ 4.0ghz
Sapphire HD6850 1gb GDDR5 @ stock 775/1000
8 gb G.Skill DDR3-1600
WD Black 7200RPM 500gb
Windows 7 64-bit
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
