I've had a Diamond HD6450 GPU in my HTPC for over a year, I don't ever recall the temperatures getting very high on it (using Catalyst as a monitor now and then.) I downloaded the updated driver package from AMD last night... and now my GPU idles at 50C.
...and, to make matters worse, Catalyst keeps crashing.
I uninstalled everything, even used OCN's process to manually remove all the AMD/ATI files, and reinstalled drivers from the Diamond CD (v11.11 that came with the GPU and that have never given me problems,) but now Catalyst still crashes.
Anyone familiar with the Catalyst crashes?
Anyone running a passive HD6450 give me an idea of your temps? Something just doesn't seem right...
