Is anyone running crossfire 5850s? Do you find the 1 GB ram to be too limiting? Have you tried eyefinity 3x screen gaming on it?

I'm on the fence whether to sell my 5850 and get a 7950, or buy a 2nd 5850 cheap and run crossfire eyefinity. But I wonder what 1 GB ram limitation would do to performance on games of today and say 2 years past?

I still have mine. Ref design 5850 @ 1000/1300 with a full water block. Don't game anymore so it's at idle 90% of the time.

I just bought a 7950 yesterday. I don't really need it, but I was planning on buying Crysis 3 anyways, and I had $130 in Amazon credit expiring next month, and the bundle is a pretty great deal. Looking forward to maxing the newer games, but the 5850 is a fantastic card. My 2500k @ 4.5GHz will appreciate a stronger GPU.

my 5850 doesn't look to be in great shape, it's a factory OC model, with mem at 1125MHz, but I was having some random lines in games, I lowered to 1100 and it seems to have solved the problem...

apart from that I have some mouse cursor corruption on windows (sometimes when it changes quickly I can see some black bars)

I still have a tough time remembering that my Diamond 5850 is almost three and a half years old. Talk about longevity!

Still using my 5850, and will only upgrade when it breaks as everything runs fast enough at the moment, plus what is available at the moment doesn't impress me much at the price range I would go for.

I still keep my two 5850s on my tertiary rig.

Still going strong but for games like Far Cry 3 and Crysis 3 (especially the latter) you really have to turn down the texture options. 1GB framebuffer is entry level these days and will become even more obsolete by next year.

When overclocked they can even catch up or surpass stock GTX 680 in Valley HD Extreme benchmark.

Surprisingly my Q9550@4Ghz is starting to have a hard time feeding them with data in these last few games. With a better cpu they could provide a very decent gaming experience (with sensible settings that is).
