My rig is currently connected to my TV, a sony bravia 52inch LCD that has 3 hdmi outputs and runs at a native 1080p with 60 hz refresh,

When connecting the computer via hdmi, DVI to HDMI or Display port to HDMI, the screen runs at the resolution but there are black borders around all 4 sides.

i searched online but no one seemed to be describing the same problems as i was having. on a side note, if i change the refresh rate to 30i it seems to get bigger (borders are smaller) but the text is illegible.

can anyone help me out here?

Ive tried catalysts 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 10.4a and am currently running on Win 7 ultimate 64 bit.

Connect it via a DVI-VGA adapter and VGA cable , that's the only method that has worked for me perfectly with a 5770 and a 42" Bravia.

I use a setting on my bravia, "full pixel". It's found under screen settings and then display area.

Use that and set overscan to "0%" in CCC.

leon how long have you been living like that? if you can't get a DVI/HDMI signal to sync 1:1 with the LCD, you shouldn't be afraid to throw every toggle in every menu until you get it right. almost every tv has a "no overscan" setting but they go by different names.

I'm lucky, my 32" Westinghouse LCD didn't have any over/underscan at all on the HDMI port. Text is sharp and clear. Then again, it's only 720P, but it works just fine browsing the web from across the room.
