Wow, Windows 7 rates the HD4870X2 as only 6.3 for gaming graphics... anyone have a GTX 295 and what is its rating?

also, I have the VeliRaptors 10K drives, they seem to always be spining down like they go into sleep mode with in just a few mins. - this happen in Vista 64 as well, I shut off power saving and the hiber file - does the same in Windows 7 64.

system is:

Asus Rampage II Extreme X58
i7 core 965 cpu
VeliR 10K hdd's
12GB DDR3-1333MHz
X-Fi Titium. Audio
HD4870X2 (changed to this when went to Windows 7)
killerNIC

any thoughts on the hdd's going to sleep and having to spin back up? anyone have GTX 295 and Windows 7 rating (just curious)...

Any review sites taking a stab at (yes I know win7 is just beta) windows 7 x64 vs Vista x64 Gaming benchmarks yet?

Eould be interesting to see a few of the games old and new along the lines of COD 4, Fry Cry2, Warhead, COD 5 WaW, FEAR - to me seems while win7 normal usage feels slower to me, inside games things seem to fly right along rather smooth...

I know in Vista, not sure if it's the same in 7, you go in Power options in Control Panel, whatever plan you have checked, click on change plan settings. Click on Change advanced power settings then click on Hard Disk, then click Turn off hard disk after, click on settings (minutes) and choose 0.

My WD Black drive always spun down after 10min. This fixed it.

thanks - windows 7 is nearly the same, so much like vista x64 sp2, would of expected Vista SE like win98 had win98 SE by looks... of course I suppose the bad rap/take about Vista made that not even a thought by Microsoft.

...had that check off (hdd alaways on, w7 had to set it to 800 mins.) , however doing a clean install, seems to be working this time around so far...
