Boo gouging. Also, what kind of person registers and has their first post be a newegg link for an overpriced card? Hmmm.

I can't believe that people complain about the price gouging on Video Cards (NVidia or ATI), that only 1 MONTH AGO would cost TWICE AS MUCH for the SAME PERFORMANCE.

The 8800gts and 2900xts were overpriced. They had been at the same prices for a year.

In regards to the original post...
The egg is the worse place to buy those cards right now...
Buy them from dell for way less.

Those cards were overpriced when they came out more then a year ago, their prices didn't go down at all. The reason for the price gouging is because the new cards are selling it... because most people have waited two years for a reasonably priced card to upgrade (skipping the 2900 / Geforce8 generation entire).

it was 50$ off two days ago... selling for 220$. I guess the "sale" is over (dell always goes in and out of sales to get lower prices then their distributers.) Look around though, newegg is still way overpriced compared to other stores.

What a ridiculous price. No reason to buy it when it's barely cheaper than the 8800GT.

Unless of course you buy the gt at dell. Only one I could find was superclocked for $319. I guess their sales are good, but regular prices suck.

Overpriced compared to what...?

What's your reference price here...?

So last year (or a month ago, actually...) they were overpriced at $600/$450 GTX/GTS respectively, and now they are overpriced at $250 - $300...?

C'mon people, gimme a break.

yeah, the problem with these video cards is not that they are not a "fair" price, it's that almost everybody is charging a LOT more than msrp for them.

So together, as 1.1x + 0.9x / 2 = 1x, correct...? ;)
