HD xfer rate question

Computer has 3 1TB drives, 2 WD Blacks & a Hitachi (not sure the model #) Running Windows 7 & OSX 10.6 dual boot. I put the Hitachi in a few days ago. First thing I did was make a partition and xfered 70 gigs of stuff over from one of the WD's. It averaged about 52mb/s. Files were about 10 megs each. I have a DFI Lanparty P45 with all the latest drivers. I then booted into OSX and realized I couldn't resize the partition because I had formatted it in Win 7. So I wiped it, and re copied the same files over again. This time my average was like 74. Wondering what was up, I wiped it in Win 7, copied again. Went into OSX wiped and copied again, same thing. It took about 25 minutes both times in Windows, 14 in OSX. I know speeds will vary OS to OS, but why are my HD's so much quicker in OSX? DMA mode is enabled in Windows. All 4 times nothing was running in the background and I wasn't using the computer to do anything.

I removed all the drivers related to my MB and reinstalled them. Win 7 is still much slower than OSX for file xfers. By at least 40%, anyone have any ideas? My Win doesn't feel slow when I use it, but when I copy data the difference becomes hugely apparent.
