So I cant find a def answer, but I am gaming on a SOny Bravia, friend of mine comes over, we play some halo, he mentions that he notices some screen lag due to the tv...so i find some info that "post processing" can cause this...
no real settings on the tv, so I just go into advanced settings and turn off all the "MPEG filtering" or "Black correcting" and etc in the advanced settings...
I seem to notice a dif, when I spawn its immediate, used to have this break from the time i heard the noise to when I saw myself actually...

is it in my head or did this work?

If you have one of the newer bravias with 120hz "motion enhancer", turn that off - thatll get rid of the majority of the lag. If you still feel some, change that input to game/text mode, and then there should be absolutely zero.

I have a bravia myself...there are some settings that are going to cause lag, but "black corrector" and "mpeg noise correction" shouldnt have any effect - but neither should they be on for the input your games are connected to either.

Which model bravia do you have?

I will take a look at the specific model, but I won it on an online contest a while back. According to the guitar hero test, when i turned off all those enhancements, it managed to have 0 lag...so maybe it worked? When I turned it all on, i would get the occasional 8ms reading...

IF GH says it worked, it most likely did. 8ms is probably well beyond the limits of human perception anyway. A lot of times its all in your head and just the placebo effect. If you convince yourself something is there, you'll see it even when it isnt.

Its certainly a convenient excuse for your friend to use when he's getting pwned.

The most surefire way to take everything out of the equation is to turn on "game mode".
