I have a Quantum Atlas III 18.2 gig hd on a Tekram DC-390U2W card. It is the only SCSI device on the card, and it is terminated on the 68-pin cable with the LVD terminator that came with the card.

My HD-Tach (Ver. 2.52) scores are not what they should be. Granted, the Atlas isn't a banr burner, but the scores should be better.

Read Average: 10899 kps
Read Burst: 36 meg/sec
Access: 10.1 ms

Something doesn't seem right.

Any thoughts?

That is fast.

I get 2.2MB/s burst, 10-14ms access time, this is in DMA-2. Using UDMA I get 5.1MB/s burst and 9ms access time.

Ack! Surely you joke! 2.2MB a sec burst is a tad bit on the slow side. With my WD 27.3 on a HotRod66 (at UDMA-4) I get 59.9MB burst, 22134 kbps average with an access of 10.3 ms.

That's exactly what I am talking about. It isn't performing even as good as an IDE drive. So, where do I start looking?

And thanks, RSI, I'll go and d/l the latest version.
