Im running an Adaptec 29160 U160 card along with a IBM 36GB LVD drive. This is actually the first time ive operated under a scsi environment.. Performance hasnt seemed to woe me at all.. which brings me to the benchmark results.. HERE (stupid ofoto degrades the quality of the picture)

Random Access Time - 8.8ms

Read speed - maximum 36370.0kps, minimum 2739.0kps, average 28018.8kps

cpu utilization: 2.6%

Now the question is are these results on track with the hardware I am running?

Please advise

The benchmark seems to be fine for your drive but I realise that you use WinXP so you should check out this thread.

To let you know I tried the dynamic disk thing and even though my benches rose I didn't see any increased real world performance until I moved back to Win2000.

well i guess im just gonna have to wait it out a bit longer... supposedly XP SP1 is due for release in August or September 2002 which contains the fix for hd performance
